All Christian believers agree that Jesus healed people, but they disagree on whether God heals today or always wants everyone healed. If there is no divine healing today, then let us leave it. But if there is divine healing in this life and present-day ministry of redemption of our dear Lord Jesus Christ, let us pursue it with all our might.
As I mentioned in the previous broadcast, God’s Word is clearly spoken of in Proverbs 4:22 as being medicine to all of our flesh. Psalms 107:20 tells us God sent His Word and healed us. According to Isaiah 53:5-6 and 1 Peter 2:24, healing is guaranteed as far as far as God is concerned.
The Word of God also clearly reveals that healing is a part of the atonement of Jesus in Isaiah 53:4-5 and in Matthew 8:17. Jesus’ earthly ministry clearly demonstrated that it is always God’s will to heal. Not once did Jesus turn away from a request for healing. In fact, 17 times in the gospels Jesus healed all of the sick that were present and 47 times he healed one or two people at a time.
The Bible gives us many examples of individuals who were healed of serious problems, including leprosy, blindness and being crippled. God even restored physical life to some who had died. God performed these miracles through mare men like Elijah and Elisha in the Old Testament and, in the New Testament, through the apostles.
The Bible clearly states
- Healing is the children’s bread. (Matt 15:21–27)
- We were healed at the cross, in addition to being forgiven of sin. (1 Peter 2:24)
- Jesus’ sacrifice purchased everything for man’s highest good. (Isaiah 53:4–5)
- God healed all our diseases. (Psalm 103:3-5)
- His will is for a long and satisfied life. (Ps 91:15 – 16)
- Above all things, He desires us to prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. (3 John 2)
- Jesus is the same yesterday and forever (Hebrews 13:8)
- He is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34)
The major reasons why some people DO NOT receive their healing or even wait a long time before healing is manifested?
1) Faith in the Healing God:
First, we must all agree that in order to receive divine healing, you have to have faith in the healer – our Lord Jesus Christ. Faith comes by hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Faith begins where the will of God is known. We have to settle according to the Word of God that He wants everyone healed / well.
You must allow Your faith, confidence, self-esteem, and the whole attitude about your life in Christ to grow and increase studying God’s Word
One of the most important things you can do to strengthen your faith for healing is to plant the Word of God in your heart concerning healing and divine health. Make it a habit to intentionally read and declare healing promises from scripture over yourself daily, thanking and praising God for His love, faithfulness, and healing promises.
We believe John 10:10(b) that says, Jesus came to give us “life and life more abundantly,”. It is always God’s will to heal. It is the devil who comes to kill, steal and destroy.
2) Expectation:
Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was Christ or not, John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you in water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire (Luke 3:15-16).
Note – the Bible says; “People in Expectation“
One translation says that: “The people were on their tip-toes in anticipation and expectation.” We need to understand that if God is going to do something, He looks for people who have expectation, i.e., those on their tiptoes and expecting God to do the impossible. For this to happen, we need to expect miracles and expect an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit is poured out when God’s people are living in expectation.
Colossians 2:14 says that “He blotted out the ordinance against us, He took it out of the way, and nailed it to the cross.” Why is this important? Because there is nothing that stands between you and your miracle. It is time for you to be on your tiptoes and expect the goodness of God, believing He is ready to do a miracle at any place and any time. Expect it!
God has promised that your expectation shall not be cut off because the desire of the righteous shall be granted. Proverbs 10:24 “but the desire of the righteous shall be granted”. The man at the gate called Beautiful; Blind Bartimeus and the Woman with the issue of blood all expressed positive expectation.
As we pray, need to expect the manifestation of what we prayed for. It is only then; we shall see results and manifestations of God’s healing power. To be healed Spirit, Soul and Body is your inheritance. You must expect God to manifest His healing power and anointing through you.
